There are over 64 million gym members in the US alone, but fewer than 32% use their gym memberships. The most common reasons people quit pursuing their fitness goals are a lack of motivation, fun and community. At its heart, this is a social problem with a social solution.
FITCHAIN is a social-first solution to the problem of abandoned fitness goals. This health and fitness app matches like-minded aspiring fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life with their most compatible gym buddies for shared workouts. With FITCHAIN, no one has to pursue their fitness goals alone.

One of the founding principles behind FITCHAIN is that the app matches users based on their fitness experience and personal interests — not their physical attributes. FITCHAIN promotes the people who make the most genuine effort to find a workout buddy.
Users can sign up, create their profiles, set their location and match distance. They can then browse and swipe through potential gym buddies. Once they’re matched, they can talk via the app or have group conversations in squads.
Strong security and privacy controls make it easy for users to control who can see and talk to them. This makes it safe, fun and inclusive for everyone on the platform.
FITCHAIN CEO & Founder Travis Tran knows first-hand how important shared fitness experiences are. “I've been an athlete for much of my life. I'm ex-military and I'm a fencer. When I look back at some of the best experiences I've had in my life, they revolved around doing sports and getting fit with people who really mattered to me.”
Travis wanted that same experience for everyone everywhere. “When people go into the gym for the first time or after an extended break, they often feel out of place. They feel lost, lonely and awkward. FITCHAIN fixes this and makes the world a better place by connecting like-minded individuals with similar goals and similar interests in pursuing their fitness goals.”
Travis needed the right tech partner to help him focus on the business behind the app. “Building an app on your own is hard and expensive. It takes time away as the CEO of a company and consumes the capacity you need for the 101 other important things.”
That’s why Travis chose Builder.ai to bring his idea to life, “Hiring and managing people on my own, with a full-time job and limited coding knowledge, was not an option. Builder.ai allowed me to focus on strategy and marketing, which is 90% of the effort. With a wonderful team and a wonderful Productologist, we were able to build something very nice.”
The initial response among users is overwhelmingly positive, “FITCHAIN just launched but we've already had great feedback from people across-the-board. The app has been performing well and we have a product that people are genuinely interested in.”

Users can create customisable profiles with the option to add extra fields to share more information about themselves.
This feature recommends similar items to users based on their actions and the information in their profiles. Data could include what they have in their cart, order history, browsing behaviour and more. Thus, helping users find relevant items.
Users can create a group with other users, give that group a name and chat with all users within the group. Great for improving communication. Needs a third-party integration, so the final cost depends on their pricing.
Send notifications users can see and read when they are not inside the product. Helpful when you need to send important or new information and is great for increasing engagement.
Monetise your product with in-app purchases. Offer users exclusive features for a fee, such as free delivery, premium content and more.
Set up recurring billing for users and choose the frequency to match your business model. This is also helpful for users, as automated payments reduce friction around fees.
